IT Data Administrator South Slope
Position Objective/Goal: The primary responsibilities of the Data Administrator are to design, install and support company and customer networks. Responsibilities include reviewing network traffic, usage, and capacity to assess future network requirements, create and implement network policies and procedures, and make recommendations regarding new system technologies and upgrades.

Core Responsibilities:
• Review network traffic, usage, and capacity to assess future network requirements.
• Configure and support network monitoring software.
• Create and implement network policies and procedures.
• Maintain current industry knowledge. Make recommendations to management regarding new system technologies and upgrades.
• Perform regular routing and switching duties with an emphasis on OSPF, BGP, EVPN, MPLS and Multicast.
• Assist in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of South Slope’s Access Networks, WiFi, IPTV, and Fixed Wireless as needed.
• Assist in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of South Slope server infrastructure including windows and Linux operating systems and software.
• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of switched telephone services.
• Responsible for the overall planning and system administration of South Slope and its customer’s network security to include Firewalls and End Point Protection.
• Strong emphasis on overall network security on all network elements.
• Maintain strong knowledge of all products and services offered by South Slope.
• Strong background supporting Windows Active Directory networks.
• Ability to support and troubleshoot virtualization platforms.
• Ability to work after hours and on the on-call rotation to perform network maintenance and equipment upgrades.
• Maintain a good driving record and conform to all safety practices on the job with tools and vehicle.
Education:
• Degree in a computer-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CCNA certification required or must be obtained within 6 months.
Experience:
• 3-5 years ISP experience preferred.
• Digital Telephone Switching Translations experience preferred
Standard Working Hours: Monday thru Friday (8:00 am to 4:30pm) Hours per week: 40 hours per week Overtime: As needed and additional on-call rotation required
Work Environment: Must be able to work in an office setting. Must have the ability to stand and sit continuously. Must be able to operate office equipment including a computer/laptop, calculator, scanner, telephone etc.
